I think this is a good discussion question. I’m writing an MC who entered the magical world which is mostly the same but with magic and other races/species. At what point does the “he couldn’t believe his eyes, it’s a ___” stop and become normal, or at least normal enough to stop saying that every time?

Edit: thanks everyone, this advice has been great! I think the last time he’s going to be overwhelmed for now will be when he enters the next scene, which will be a busy restaurant with a bunch of other species/races. After that, minor/side characters being a goblin or elf won’t be as surprising. He still has some learning to do before he doesn’t need his world stand in tutor, but at least everything isn’t going to blow his mind.
