How does diiferent personalities get along at work?
What I have learnt from working with a variety of teams is that there are a number o different ways that people are contributing.
Also, some are loud and energetic. Still, some are silent, watchful. Some inspire with words, and others inspire by consistent action.
I would have thought that if I were quiet, I would not be noticeable in a work environment. However, I have learned that some of the most reliable people are just those who focus, get things done, and don't talk too much.
Meanwhile, I have discovered that when people are feeling respected, their workplace becomes healthier, and when they feel valued, it becomes healthier. For most people, it's not a matter of choice about leaving a job. At times, they quit due to burnout, lack of appreciation, and feeling stuck.
There's empathy too; that's a greater factor than we realize. Not all the time do you have to go through someone's life to really get to know them. Listening and taking on board others' ideas can be sufficient to enhance teamwork and collaboration.
Different personalities. Different strengths. Same goal. It's this blend that creates a great team.
