I graduated with a degree in Advertising with a focus on Art Direction, and I’ve been trying to break into a graphic design or creative role.

Right now I’ve been doing Uber and reselling just to make money, but I don’t want to stay stuck there.

I’ve been:

Applying to design and creative roles

Reaching out to people directly

Updating my portfolio with campaign-style work

But I’m not getting much traction—barely any responses or interviews.

I’m starting to wonder if I’m missing something, like:

My portfolio not being strong enough

Not applying the right way

Or aiming at the wrong types of roles

If anyone works in design/advertising or has been in a similar position, I’d really appreciate honest advice on what I should focus on to actually get my foot in the door.

Hey everyone — I posted my portfolio here before and got some really solid feedback.

I took the advice and made a bunch of changes (layout, project clarity, visuals, etc.) and wanted to share the updated version to see if I’m moving in the right direction.

Looking for honest feedback — what’s working now, what still feels off, and what you’d change.
