I brought a pull up bar (one of those you can put on a doorframe) as a training for aerial. Figured I'd see where I was at with a pull up, thinking I'd need to buy resistance bands to be able to do one.
Turns out I can already do a pull up! So far I've managed two in a row but haven't tried to push myself further than that. I've previously struggled with being underweight for a lot of my adult life so this is massive for me personally.
It was a surprise as I only started going to aerial classes 3 months ago (2 classes a week and more recently I've added in open training, for a total of 3 hours a week). Before that I have been going to the gym semi-regularly (on average 2 times a week, training upper and lower body) although not the most consistently or pushing myself to my limits.
Aerial is such an intense upper body workout and you need so much strength and stamina to maintain being up in the air. I can highly recommend aerial as a sport/exercise/hobby if you have a studio nearby as everyone is so supportive and lovely.
Stats in case anyone is wondering: 5'4" and 54 kg (I'm within 52-55 kg range consistently), late 20s.
