Been WFH since 2023, Teams calls, spreadsheets, emails all on my main rig. Wanted to grab a cheap work laptop but kept pushing it off thinking why bother the PC handles everything fine.

What I didn't realize is at some point I completely stopped looking forward to gaming. I'd sit down after work, same desk same chair same monitors I'd been staring at since 9am and just nothing. Opened Steam a few times and just closed it again. Thought I was burning out on gaming in general.

Then I went on a 10 day trip, came back and something about being away from the desk for that long made me actually enjoy a long gaming session again. That's when it clicked.

Bought a used ThinkPad X1 off eBay for like $180 strictly for work. Wiped all the work stuff off my main PC. That was 4 months ago and I look forward to gaming again in a way I havent in like more than 2 years.

Your brain will absolutely start associating your setup with whatever you spend the most time doing on it. If thats work then congratulations you turned your gaming rig into a very expensive office computer. Dont be me
