I have a short term rental property. The countertops were bad — 20 year old Formica with some burns/stains/nicks. My guests (and resale value) deserve better! Based on comments on a previous post, I went with granite. A local vendor gave me a great deal on a leftover piece which was plenty for my small kitchen. I’m delighted with the area they used for the island. Now that the countertop is done, the cabinets really look like sh*t!
