Hi all.

I have proctitis, diagnosed in 2012.

Not sure what other people’s experiences are in the UK but my “care” seems very hands off and I’m kind of left to my own devices until my 18 month telephone review comes around. If I have a flare up (which to be fair up until last year, we’re very infrequent) then I take 1g of the pentasa suppositories per night.

Currently in a flare that isn’t getting better at all, I’m wondering if I’m allowed to up my dose to 2g while I try to get in and see my GP for advice? Didn’t want to take more without seeing someone but I really need to stop this bleeding. I’m having lower back pain every single day and not sure if it’s linked to the flare.
