Reading up to chapter 345 these are the reflections that were brought up to my mind:
Freedom = wants space to play and doesn't likes to face difficulties
- Doesn't likes to face difficulties = mindset of a spoiled child?
Restriction = wants to force their own plays and likes facing challenges, doesn't plays at their best when have freedom
- Doesn't plays at their best with freedom to play the way they want = no sense?
- Wants to force their own plays = narcissist?
- Likes challenges = should be what everyone should be looking for?
Then you add up fundamentals of any sport:
- flow: only works when facing a daring challenge that excites you enough
- awakening: surpassing mental and possible physical restriction that allows the player to reach their new peak performance
- evolution: surpassing physical restriction by developing a new route to reach your objective
Isnt flow the same thing as peak performance, and therefore, something that is shaped with the environment you are instead of being the basic behavior?
Is an awakening and evolving also different manifestations of flow, meaning the chart doesnt matters at all combining this with flow?
And it gets even worse with specific examples:
- Recently with Isagi: peak performance comes when there is a number one to challenge. Doesn't that makes him a restrictive type? Even though he portrayed himself as a freedom type?
- Rin: peak performance also brought when there is a player dominating the match and he isnt allowed to play the way he wants. Doesn't that makes him weaker compared to others, since he will always need to be loosing up to a certain extent to play at his peak?
- Barou: likes to rebels against systems. Doesn't that makes him a horrible player to have on a team? Yeah chaos can give you a chance of winning, but that means he's not a starting player and instead a super sub. Isnt that the opposite of what the best striker would want to be?
- Kaiser: wants to degrade his own image so he can play better and feel loved after succeeding. Isnt that not only a messed up but impractical and inconsistent way of reaching your peak performance? How as a striker alone that isnt being confronted by anyone in u20 German team is he going to ever reach that state?
At this point I'm starting to believe that at the end of the day, this chart isnt really relevant, and in order to truly predict peak performance you must, yes, understand the player, but more importantly read the room first. And that the environment plays a much more important role in behavior changes, and might be the cause for self proclaimed freedom types to all of suddenly play/feel motivated as restrictive types for example. I just really want for this france vs Japan game to end so we can understand wtf is going on on side B, blue lock team mind and what the recent occurrences mean to the show.
