Today I had a first: accepted a trip, pickup was 8 minutes away. The customer messaged me right away and said cancel, I didn’t respond for a minute and then he said “please cancel”. I pulled over and went back and forth with him saying I didn’t want to hurt my rating and that he could still cancel without having to pay. He said “no, cancel”. i cancelled, so now I’m at 10% cancel rate.
I was debating on just driving there to not get hit on my cancellation rate and maybe get a no show or cancel fee. But didn’t want to risk keeping it and have him get in my car all pissed and rate me bad. I’m still a 5 star. How would you guys have handled this?
Another question, 10% isn’t too bad right?
