Hey everyone,
I’ve got a 2016 Hyundai Veloster with the Dimension audio system and factory navigation, and I just picked up an Alpine iLX-W670.

The parts I bought are:

iDataLink Maestro HRN-RR-SA1 Wiring Harness

iDataLink Maestro RR Interface Module

Alpine iLX-W670-M

I’ve run into some confusion trying to get everything to work together. From what I’m seeing, the factory amp setup is making this way more complicated than I expected.

Right now I’m trying to figure out the best route:

1.) Keep the factory amp and integrate everything properly

2.) OR bypass the amp and run speaker wires directly from the Alpine

Main questions:

What’s the cleanest way to install the iLX-W670 in a Veloster with Dimension audio?

Is bypassing the factory amp worth it, or will I lose sound quality?

What exact harness should I be using? (Seeing conflicting info on HK1 vs HK2 vs others)

Has anyone here done this exact setup?

I’ve never done anything like this, I’m comfortable doing the work, just trying to avoid going down the wrong path and redoing everything twice.

Appreciate any help 🙏

UPDATE:
Appreciate all the help so far. I ended up pulling the trigger and ordered the HK2 harness to go with my Maestro RR and Alpine iLX-W670.
After digging into it more, I realized my Veloster does have the factory amp (Dimension Audio), which is why none of the wiring was making sense at first. I was originally about to bypass the amp and run new speaker wire, but that seemed like way more work and potentially worse sound with the stock speakers.

Plan now is:
Keep the factory amp

Use RCA outputs from the Alpine

Connect everything through the HK2 + Maestro
