WCML Preston - Carlisle one of the best TSW route
You get 4 locomotives, Class 87, 47, 08, and 101 DMU. Most of the service centers around the class 87 and 08. The Class 47 and 101 DMU don't make much of an appearance which is sad. The Class 87 has multiple liveries including 3 different intercity and one significantly weathered intercity one. There is also blue DB rail liveries. The rolling stock is a mix of several different eras including older DB rail and newer intercity carriages. The diverse lineup makes the route much more interesting. Aside from the passenger service there is also freight service using the Class 87 and 4 for Steel, and Intermodal containers as well as priority mail trains. The 08 is used for shunting operations and the 108 makes a scarce appearance for regional trains however these trains only travel from terminals to branches and do not travel across the entire route. Additionally, most of the timetable for this train is just shunting and setting up which is dissapointing. As this is one of the newer routes there is the new conductor mode. Compared to the Riveria Line, in this one you do not manually operate the doors, but you do manually make the announcements. Compared to other TSW routes the scenery on this one is much better and more detailed, the Class 87 in particular is very satisfying to drive as you need to constantly adjust the voltage to accelerate and brake making the route go by quicker rather than setting and forgetting. I don't think the price of $45 is worth it but this is definitely one of the best TSW routes to get for gameplay and scenery to get on discount.
