Just a scenario but Rico could be a 2-0 WBC Champion if he miraculously beats Uysk which he won't. But you all get my point, at least I hope so lol.
- Oleksandr Usyk is literally the unified heavyweight champion
- And he’s defending his WBC belt against a kickboxer making his second boxing fight
Meanwhile actual ranked contenders are getting skipped like they don’t exist. For example one name I’m sure you all heard of “Agit Kabayel”.
It isn’t even opinion, it’s fact:
- Rico Verhoeven isn’t ranked by the WBC at all
- He has basically zero proven boxing résumé
- Yet he’s fighting for the same belt guys grind YEARS for AND STILL NEVER END UP GETTING
That makes the belt look like a prop, not a championship.
Seriously I don't want to come across as I hate Usyk cause I don't became a fan of his back then when he beat Derek Chisora, and I've followed his career ever since.
Can someone explain to me on how did this even fall through as AN actual match for the WBC Belt? Should be an exhibition match.
