Location: Canada, BC - Last year during a security department strike, my license was set to expire, I filed for the renewal and due to strike my license was taking way longer than I expected to renew. After some time My license was set to renew in two days, My employer as they should asked me for the renewed license.
I was in panic as I did not have money to pay for rent next month if I did not work. I asked my friend for help and he edited dates on the temporary license photo they send in mail, he said I will be able to continue to work with it and in the meantime I will get my renewed license so it won’t be a big problem. He said just don’t call the cops at work and I will be fine.
I sent that to my employer and they allowed me to work, my bad luck made my renewal application go on for months and in the meantime my existing license was extended twice due to the strike.
I continued to work, and now the department asked me for my work permit which they said was missing from my file I don’t know how that could be possible but I sent the work permit again and they said okay we will process the application.
But my employer verified my license this month and the both extensions were up so mine came as invalid and now the security department is investigating me.
My life is ruined if I lose the job and license, my Immigration status depends on my job and I have been barely keeping myself up with expenses and now I haven’t worked for over a month since they told me my license is invalid. I have no idea what to do, I am panicking every second. I know I should have never done it but desperation and the fear of being homeless got the best of me. Is there any saving me?
