Chapter 7
My husband is in the preparation phase of filing solo chapter 7. The lawyer previously asked about my own debts, I currently have none (other than a joint car loan we have being reaffirmed during filing) so this was a non issue. However our water heater sprung a leak and the bottom is rusting out, requiring replacement to avoid further water damage and have hot water in the home. He was advised not to use credit cards or after pay, will it cause issues for his filing if I purchase a water heater on my own after pay account (will be self installed to reduce cost)? This is in Texas if that makes a difference. I know this is a question best for his attorney, but he's at work (without phone access during work hours) and not able to call today, so I just want opinions or personal experiences if anyone's dealt with a similar situation.
