Honeymoon travel
Hello!
We've been saving up aeroplan points and currently have 210k, and were hoping to fly back from our honeymoon in business class for 2 from Asia. Currently to use points it would cost 197k each (AC 64). The cheapest options have mixed cabins, and we aren't looking to do that. Layovers are fine if they make sense, but even then it saves us only 5k points each (still 192k points per person with a layover in Beijing or Shanghai).
Our itinerary is to fly from YVR to Tokyo, then fly back home to YVR from Seoul.
Currently our dates are pretty set since we both just got approval for time off work. This means our flight back would be October 27, 2026 (ideally) or October 26-29 if something better pops up.
A friend who uses points regularly says the best bet would be to buy refundable tickets and wait until 3 months out.
We've tried using some free points trackers, and have also tried to look at nearby airports (Japan, Taiwan, China, Manila, etc.), but the points don't go cheaper at all. I'm hoping we can receive some advice and help. I've looked at the advice on this sub, but it feels difficult since our dates are pretty set, and seats only open up very sporadically.
