I bought a new F-150 V8 last Saturday in Texas. I drove the truck back to Oklahoma without issue, but the next day it started to rattle upon startup. Fast forward to today: the Oklahoma dealership service center called and said they need to replace the motor. I know this isn't normal, and while it’s all covered by warranty, I'm getting a lot of conflicting advice from others. They are replacing the engine, and the loaner situation is mostly handled and covered by Ford. Is there anything you would do differently? It's not as if they are going to replace the entire vehicle or give me my old one back. Thank you.
GAS ENGINE: Upon starting engine can hear a rattle/scraping from engine. cylinder 7 is misfiring with no codes present and cylinder 2 is down 1% compression. Brand new truck with 500 miles. Pulled plugs and bore scoped engine and found black spots/streaks in cylinder walls. Requesting to replace long block under LTIS
