2007 4WD Tacoma making grinding sound on take offs
I’ve had this issue for a little bit and it’s progressively getting louder and more consistent. It sounds like it’s coming from the middle/the half towards my transfer case of my rear driveshaft. It happens on take offs and lasts the longest when I go slowly at low RPMs. It happens in both 4WD and 2WD.
Also when I go into drive, unless I have both feet on the brake to the floor, the truck will clunk and jerk forward a bit, although it’s not too violent.
I’ve tried and checked:
-No loose exhaust shields
-Greased and inspected slip yoke
-Greased u joints
-Mechanic told me to replace the carrier bearing and while I was at it I replaced the u joint right there
Anything else yall recommend??? I know I definitely haven’t done it all and I’m not that experienced so I’m out of ideas and mechanic GPT gave me nothing…
