My husband and I are in the early stages of renovating our barn into an outdoor living space, however we have had a nest of Barn swallows that comes back every year. We have taken the nest down int he off season to allow the eggs to hatch and babies to fly away. That being said, in this renovation we plan to use this outdoor space daily and the birds will dive at you in attempts to scare you away from the next which obviously is not agreeable when we are out there with our small children and family.
what can I do to deter them from nesting in the rafters? (not to mention the bird poop will then be in our living spaces/ outdoor kitchen)
