Bottle mount screw stripped
Hi All,
I have a 2 month old Diverge Carbon comp that has been amazing. Unfortunately on my last ride I realized my cage/bottle and bolts were gone mid ride. Figured they rattled loose no big deal. Bought a new cage/bottle and specialized bolts and went to install new cage today to find one of the bottle cage bolt holes is completely stripped. The threads are mangled presumably from hanging on while rattling out.
I installed to spec with a torque wrench and thought I did everything right.
I have it at the shop and waiting for them to look at it but I’m curious if anyone’s gone through this. If they can tap it - does that void warranty? Or is it even possible to tap?
I’d hate to try to warranty a brand new frame like this and don’t even think specialized would warranty it. Seems like it would be too easy for them to blame install error here?
