Hey everyone. Hope this is okay to post here, looking for honest advice from recruiters.

Background: I have an MS in Data Science from a US university. I am currently on OPT with about 5 weeks remaining and actively looking for a role at an E-Verify company.

What I have built:

  • Built an end-to-end AI automation tool at a health tech startup using LLM APIs, CRM integration and dashboarding automated business discovery, logging and AI generated outreach emails, built in 4 days
  • Built ML classification and regression models on real clinical patient data overnight using Random Forest, XGBoost and SVM for a medical conference abstract submission
  • Developed an AI Clinical Assistant using open source LLMs with voice based patient specific responses
  • Graduate Assistant building healthcare AI models on real health data
  • Data Scientist intern SQL, Python, ML for business analytics

Skills: Python, SQL, R, Machine Learning, Power BI, LLMs, NLP, Healthcare AI

Roles I am targeting: Data Analyst, Healthcare Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Clinical Data Analyst and related, E-Verify companies only

Honest truth: It has been a long and stressful job search. I have had 7 interviews with no offers yet and the OPT deadline adds real pressure. As a fresher navigating this alone it feels overwhelming I don't always know what I am doing wrong or what to prioritize. The self doubt has started creeping in and with it a lack of confidence that I know is affecting my performance. I keep pushing every day but I genuinely need some direction from people who see candidates like me regularly.

Any honest feedback from a recruiter's perspective would mean a lot. Happy to share resume or LinkedIn in DMs. Thank you.
