No-show Consultations

Hi! I work in an appointment only studio and I drive an hour and twenty minutes to get to work. I do almost all of my consultations online, but occasionally I'll get someone who really wants an in-person consultation. In order to do this, I need to leave half an hour early to meet with them before my first appointment for the day. This is all fine and good, but probably only 40% of these people turn up for the consultation. Sometimes they re-book it last minute or after the fact and don't show up for that one either! It's really quite annoying and I would have liked to have stayed in bed. I don't find in-person consultations to be necessary most of the time, do this is totally for their benefit, not mine.

Would I be totally insane to charge a small fee that gets added to their deposit if they attend the consultation and book the appointment? I know it's not the norm, but I think it should be because people don't value our time at all.
