26M Electrical Engineer confused between MEP/BIM vs Sales Engineer vs other paths need honest career advice
26M Electrical Engineering graduate from INDIA.
After graduation, I ended up doing multiple BPO/non-technical jobs for some time because I was confused about my career direction, but I eventually realized those jobs had very little long-term growth or future for me.
Recently started working in a small MEP firm (12k/month) and currently learning Revit MEP side by side.
The main reason I chose MEP was because it seems to offer:
move abroad
do freelance/remote work
start my own consultancy/training business
or eventually build something financially big in India
But I keep doubting whether I should continue in this field or pivot into something else like a sales engineer or a business or something else.
It's just I don't want to do 9-6pm my whole life so is this the correct field or should I do something else.....
People already working in MEP/BIM/electrical/sales:
How has your salary/career progressed?
Is Revit MEP actually worth investing years into?
How realistic are abroad opportunities in this field?
Does MEP have strong business/freelance potential later?
Are Sales Engineer roles better financially in the long run?
If you were 26 again, which path would you choose and why?
