4 years ago when a family member was moving, a large family heirloom was offered. I was 6-8th to be asked and said yes. family was thrilled it was staying in the family.
Fast forward to now, a separate family member is demanding it back, saying I promised I’d give it to him (I did not), they found out where I lived (no idea how), gotten my phone number (also have no idea how), driving up and down my street, knocking at the door, calling other family members and won’t stop calling. They’ve been told no multiple times by myself and others. They are now threatening me with legal action
what are my rights here? there’s no documented proof of weather I was just holding onto it or not.
They’re harassing me to the point where I’m incredibly anxious at home.
I’m thinking of going to the police tomorrow to have it on paper - my side of the story because I’m sure they’re going to be getting a call soon saying trying to accuse me of theft.
Also maybe petty but I’m not willing to give it back after them bullying me and my family for months
