And any tips for bookings that are further out?

Obviously new clients are in an unfamiliar place and i prepare myself for crying at night. None of my clients so far have chewed their way out or barked/yowled excessively. But some do tend to cry for an hour or so, and intermittently through the night. By the third night they’re pretty used to it.

Everyone has different thresholds, I’ve heard some sitters call their owner/emergency contact to pick up the dog if it cannot settle at all. For me if the animal shows any sign of hurting themselves I’d call it quits.
