Terminated from a job several months ago. Was told by another agency they wanted to offer me a job, even after knowing I was probation terminated. Then, I was told I am “not cleared through NYSTEP.” Does anyone know what that means? I was told I’m eligible for rehire. Exactly what information can show on your NYSTEP aside from dates, probation termination, title? Can NYSTEP actually block a system from hiring you? Are there polices in place that say (either officially or unofficially) that an individual must be off of state employment for at least a year (or two or three) before returning to state service after being terminated? Do evaluations get shared?
