I’m getting married in late October. Our Wedding will be heavily medieval fantasy inspired and I’m really struggling to find the words to communicate a dress code with our guests without over or under explaining.
It will be around Halloween and I want to encourage guests to come dressed on theme (ren fest/ fantasy/ D&D) if they would like to, but don’t want anyone to feel obligated! I just want our guests to be comfortable! 😅 We have a lot of nerdy theatre and cosplay friends who will absolutely come decked out, but also have a lot of older family members who will not.
(For reference I am wearing this gown from ArmStreet and bridesmaids will be wearing dresses from Holy Clothing)
Does something like this sound okay?
“Dressy-Casual attire requested, Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fantasy attire or costumes encouraged! No weapons or prop weapons will be permitted by the venue.”
