I’m about 5 months out from my rhinoplasty + alar reduction with Dr. Joo Oh-Young at Eight Plastic Surgery. Disclaimer: I was given a discount to post a review; however, this is my honest opinion.

I was traveling to Seoul from the USA around December and knew I wanted to get a rhinoplasty. Before my trip, I had been chatting on WhatsApp with several clinics, including Eight Plastic Surgery, and scheduled a few in-person consultations once I arrived (I did like 3 in one day, which I honestly don’t recommend because we were running all over Seoul lol).

The consultation at Eight was really good and honestly helped solidify my decision to move forward with them. The doctor spoke English really well and answered all of my questions so patiently. I never felt rushed or brushed off. One thing I really loved was how collaborative everything felt. He actually listened to the aesthetic goals I had for my nose instead of trying to push a certain look, which I appreciated so much. There was also a really sweet translator there who made the whole process feel super smooth and stress-free.

On the surgery day, I was really nervous, but everyone was so kind and made me feel comfortable. After surgery, they have recovery rooms where you can rest while the anesthesia wears off. I also really appreciated that they let my boyfriend come up to support me afterward. They picked up all of my medications for me and gave me a pamphlet with detailed post-op care instructions, which made everything feel really organized and easy.

During my follow-up appointments, I got laser treatments to help with swelling. I think the treatments are unlimited, but my hotel was a little far, so I didn’t go every day. Anytime I’ve had concerns about healing, their WhatsApp has been super responsive and helpful.

As for the actual healing process, I’ll be honest — for the first couple of months, I absolutely hated my nose. My face felt so swollen and my cheeks looked super puffy. I did bruise, but it was very minimal and barely noticeable, and it only lasted about 2–3 days during the first week. Around the second month, I started having on-and-off days where I really loved my nose. It honestly looked a little different every day. The sides and base of my nose looked good pretty early on, but my tip stayed swollen for a while, which is totally normal.

As the months passed, I started having way more good nose days than bad ones. Now that I’m 5 months post-op, I can honestly say I’m really liking how my nose is turning out. I know that because I have thicker skin, my final results probably won’t fully settle in until around the one-year mark, but I’m really excited to see how everything continues to heal.

Overall, I’m really happy with my results and genuinely had such a positive experience with the clinic, especially as a foreigner.
