My dogs nails have grown quite long lately and I had been putting off getting his nails trimmed because it’s a stressful event for him. However I noticed today when playing with his feet that he seemed to be sensitive around one of his toes. I’m concerned maybe I held off too long and he somehow broke the tip of his nail off and the quick is left hanging? There’s no blood but he doesn’t seem keen on letting me touch it to examine it.

We were going to the vet tomorrow for a nail trim, but I don't even know what to do here if this is his quick?
