This may be a long shot, but I came across some things and I wonder if this avenue has been explored already about 2018 Tiana Doe (NamUs UP17575) found in New Jersey.

I saw a Facebook comment on this post from a local saying that her “Tiana/Tiara” tattoo looked to be done at a particular local shop because letters in the script look identical to theirs, including the unique script on the letter T and an R that looked just like the disputed letter of Tiana Doe's, suggesting it could be Tiara instead of Tiana (image 3). The shop is near the pond where she was found (both circled in image 5).

When I looked through the shop's posts on Instagram, I was surprised to see that there is actually an artist there who has done purple roses as coverups (only purple, I didn’t see any other colors) for many years, including before she was found in 2018. He’s shared at least 30 purple roses over the years and it actually seems to be his go-to coverup (I compiled some in image 4). He freehands them with slight variations, and hers fits right into those variations of petal shading, center shapes, and leaves. The color in her tattoo looks pretty new and saturated in the rendering, but I wonder if the state of her skin affected this for the image we have of her tattoos.

I looked through all of his and the shop’s posts hoping to see her exact rose or script posted right after it was done, because he has posts back to 2009, and couldn't find it. However, he’s been working for many years and I don’t think he’s posted every tattoo he’s done since he started.

Could this be significant at all? Am I just unaware that a purple rose is an extremely common coverup in that style? Is there a way to know that whoever is handling the case has asked around the local tattoo shops thoroughly? This shop also seems to mainly serve the local Hispanic community and I wonder if the possibility that she’s Afro-Latina has been considered. Even if her exact tattoo can’t be tracked or the artists wouldn’t remember her specifically after potentially many years, maybe the local tattoo artists would know the significance of the purple rose to one community or another and it could help place her background, especially if she potentially immigrated which could explain why family or former classmates, etc may not be local or able to claim her.
