Malpractice insurance at a free clinic, IL

I’m a licensed physician and looking to volunteer at a free medical clinic for under and uninsured individuals about once a month. I would not be compensated at all. I asked the clinic if they had malpractice insurance and they said that under Illinois “Good Samaritan” laws that I would be protected. From my understanding this only applies for emergency care?

I pushed them a little further then said they were evaluated by IAFCC and the NAFCC and were told there are no issues and physicians should be protected. I spoke specifically to other volunteer physicians there and none of them had any other malpractice insurance. They also say they have patients sign a form saying they would not file any lawsuits. Am I missing something here? This does not seem safe to me.
