told my mom about my plans to solo travel and she freaked out. how right is she?

Ever since I was 18, I’ve always wanted to go on a backpacking trip throughout SE Asia. I’m turning 23 this year, and told my mom over dinner that I planned to go backpacking around SE Asia in a year or two for around 3 months (specifically the banana pancake trail) probably alone as I don’t have any friends who can go with me/take off that much time. She absolutely flipped out, saying I could not do that alone, I was going to get sex trafficked, and that I was naive and stupid. Now, of course I know there’s dangers to traveling alone as a women and I told my mom all the precautions I would take such as not staying out after dark, not drinking, sharing my location, and sticking to touristy spots but she’s says that’s still not enough and I shouldn’t do it. Now I’m conflicted, am I being dumb and naive for wanting to do this trip? I’ve done my research and I thought backpacking SE Asia alone was on the safer side and I’ve seen so many girls on social media do it, but now I’m doubting myself. I want to do this trip so bad but my mom really scared me. am I in the wrong or is she just overly protective?
