Hi everyone,

I’m currently on OPT in the U.S. and actively looking for jobs. Recently, I got a call from a company called “United OPT,” and I wanted to check if anyone here has had experience with them or knows if they’re legit.

Here’s what they told me:

  • They charge around $400 for a 3-month program (discounted if I refer someone else)
  • They guarantee at least 6 interviews during that period
  • They assign a dedicated recruiter who will market my profile
  • They claim to have access to 50,000+ recruiters and say my resume will be visible/flagged on their platform
  • They said they don’t add fake experience or modify profiles
  • When I asked for references, they said they can’t share candidate details due to privacy but pointed me to their YouTube channel for testimonials

They sounded pretty convincing on the call, but I’m a bit unsure about paying upfront for job placement services, especially on OPT.

Has anyone here used their services or heard about them?
Were the interviews legit and useful?
Did it actually lead to a job?

Any honest feedback (good or bad) would really help before I make a decision.

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on F-1 OPT and have been struggling to land a Business Analyst/ Data Analyst role despite applying the legit way for months. Recently, I got a call from a consultancy called Staffigo saying they can help place me with clients.

However, a few things they said are making me uncomfortable:

  • They asked me to deactivate my LinkedIn, GitHub, etc.
  • They said they will rebuild my profiles themselves
  • They suggested adding extra experience to my resume
  • They mentioned they will “take care of” background checks and even things like employment history

They said I would be a full-time employee with them and then work for their clients, which I know is a common consulting model. But the above points feel off to me, especially the background check part.

I understand the market is really tough right now, especially for international students, so I don’t want to dismiss an opportunity too quickly. At the same time, I’m worried about the risks (background checks, visa issues, etc.).

Has anyone here recently gone through a similar process with this company? Is this something people actually do, or is this a red flag I should avoid?

Would really appreciate honest advice.
