Hello guys i was doing a frozenmaw campaign and when i tried to get my M.I to level 1 but my base xp gain was -5 cause i had a negative modifier from not having renaissance but after getting renaissance my monthly base xp went to 0 and getting to level 1 M.I needs 700 xp, other than events which are rare the xp never went up.

So is it normal to have base xp gain 0 or am i missing something important regarding the new magic system.
