Is my dogs behavior change urgent?
This weekend I started noticing my 5 yr old Springer Spaniel making yelping noises randomly as if in pain. Every time we examine her to try and find a source of pain, she doesn’t react at all. I noticed it happens sometimes when she jumps up to greet us or adjust her position in her bed. I even heard her do it out of a dead sleep at 2am. She was recently treated for a double yeast infection in both ears and they are still looking normal and clear.
At the same time, besides the random yelps she’s acting completely normal. Wanting to play fetch, go for walks, eating, drinking, pooping. The yelping has decreased a lot as of Monday but I still called the vet but they can’t get her in for another week. My other option is to take her to the local urgent care clinic which is more expensive so not ideal.
Any ideas on what could be wrong? Maybe a muscle strain or pinched nerve? Or is it purely behavioral?Should I take her to urgent care sooner?
