I have a job in NYC starting at the beginning of July. I have the opportunity to stay with family from then until mid August for free, but would have to then move once the job already has started and find a place with a lease starting in August. The alternative is to find a place with a lease starting in June, move in June, and be settled before the job starts.
What would you do? It’s a lot of money I could save, but wouldn’t be worth it of course if finding an apartment for August (while working full time) is too hectic to be doable, given students are all looking for leases to start at the same time. No option to extend staying with family beyond mid August. I’ll be moving from out of state but can find time next month to apartment hunt.
