So I need some advice if anyone can help. My 19 Atlas se v6 has about 130k miles on it. Previously did the brake job on the rear with a friends scanner and worked perfectly. Minus the bleeding as brake pedal was airy.
Now few days ago, bought my own scanner on Amazon for about $75 and read it does the job. So opened up the brakes with the scanner and it was fine. Replaced the pads, used scanner to close and it didn’t work. Said unsupported on the scanner. Which read a few 2 star reviews and some people said it would open but not close… kept trying but didn’t work.
Started the car and the light came on for “fault emergency parking break”. I pressed the e break and can hear the motor on the back left but not back right. Tires spin minus the back right. Manually tried to turn the knob on the actuator clockwise how some videos describe and it worked but then locked almost right away.
Also I did try to see if something was wrong on the other side and I tried to start the car by pressing the brake and push start as normal but I guess the air popped the piston out of the caliper and came out on the driver rear. Read you can normally put it back but change it soon. So I did put it back and not sure if that has to do with it as well even though I doubt it since the issue showed up before. Car drives if I disconnect the brake actuator from the passenger rear but can feel my brakes super airy. Not sure from the bleeding process as I kinda stopped to work on this. Did put brake fluid as well. Was told to replace both calipers and actuators. But cost quite a bit. Any ideas? Thanks and sorry for the long post.
