How I found out I was being 🍇ed financially

How I found out I was being 🍇ed financially

Shared from our Skool community:
I (25F) am a graduate student trying to make ends meet. I’ve been an orphan since I was five and put to CPS moving to and from foster homes almost every other week. I graduated from high school with two fully funded scholarship programs at Ivy League Schools.
I wasn’t taught finances since I had no one to teach me so I made a lot of careless mistakes growing up. I’ve been on my own for sometime now and I didn’t know I was paying exorbitant taxes which I didn’t have to pay. And waiting for my annual refunds usually took forever. Luckily I found this community off Facebook and with the help of the team, I dropped my taxes by 49%. Imagine saving over 20k as a student just by trying out a plan off Facebook.
This story is totally made up. Maybe I should become a writer or something. Idk.

What to Know about LLCs

The right question isn't "Should I form an LLC?"
It's "Does the cost justify the protection or savings for where I am right now?"
In this video, Chris breaks down what an LLC does for you depending on your networth.

After 20+ years in tax, I see the same two mistakes constantly

Asset Protection Isn't About Being Fancy-It's About Being Smart

People either overcomplicate their structure or underprotect their wealth.

The result? Wasted money and a false sense of security.

Under $500K Net Worth: Stay Simple

Before you rush to form an LLC, get a $2M umbrella insurance policy. It costs $300-800/year and covers the things that keep you up at night.

LLCs run $1,000-$5,000/year in legal, tax, and admin fees and if you don't maintain them correctly, they're worthless in court. Focus on building income and equity first.

$500K-$2M: Start Structuring

Now entities start making sense. Real estate with equity? Use LLCs but set them up before equity grows.

What Most People Miss:

Form the LLC before equity builds - not after

Maintenance beats formation. Mixing funds or skipping filings?

A court can pierce that protection

Use insurance AND entities together - wealthy people don't choose between them

The right question isn't "Should I form an LLC?"

It's "Does the cost justify the protection or savings for where I am right now?"

An extension gives you more time to FILE your taxes.

It does NOT give you more time to PAY your taxes.

So if you expect to owe, a proper extension means:

  1. File the extension

  2. Send in your estimated payment by the tax deadline

Otherwise, you may still face late-payment penalties and interest.

Don’t confuse more time to file with more time to pay.

Protect your profits.

Stay proactive.
