Would Fire Bending be the least powerful, despite seeming like the scariest? Fire is obviously dangerous, but Waterbenders can blood bend. Earthbenders can open the ground beneath you and then crush you. Airbenders vould pull the air from your lungs or they could also crush you with the weight of air.

If that is the case, would the bravado and imperialism all be in the service of striking out to hide one's inferiority?
