My partner and I are planning to relocate to Spain (looking at Valencia/Alicante area) later this year and I’m trying to figure out the job market before we make the move.
A bit about us:
I’m a graphic designer and content creator with a BA in Graphic Design (Advertising and Branding). I also work as a tattoo artist specialising in manga and illustrative styles. I have experience in brand identity, social media management, communications and content production. I speak English, Polish and Italian fluently and am actively learning Spanish.
My partner has a degree in Computer Games Technologies plus an Android development course and is trying to break into IT, whether that’s games QA, IT support, Android development or something adjacent. He also speaks Italian and Spanish. He has strong operational and management experience from hospitality.
We’re both trying to move away from hospitality into our respective fields. We’ve visited Spain many times, know the area well and already have a few friends settled there, so the move itself feels realistic. What we’re less sure about is the job market side of things.
We’d love to hear from people who actually work in design, communications or IT in Spain, especially the Valencia/Alicante area. Our friends have been helpful but we’re conscious they work in different fields so we’d value some outside perspective.
