What are you using for futures right now?

Just went deep on the Coinbase Card for European users and the tldr is: it's fine if you're already locked into Coinbase, but it's not the best crypto card in Europe right now.

The thing most people don't realise is the UK and EU versions are completely different products. UK users get the better deal — higher ATM limits, actual cashback, faster card delivery. EU users get a stripped-back version with limited rewards and lower limits. Some EU countries (Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) can't even get the card at all.

The real kicker is the spread. Every time you tap the card and pay with crypto (not USDC or fiat), Coinbase liquidates your crypto at point of sale and hits you with a ~2.49% conversion spread. That's not listed as a "fee" — it's baked into the exchange rate. For comparison, Crypto.com with CRO staking is around 0.5–1%, and even Revolut X sits at 1.5–2%.

So if you're spending BTC on groceries, you're paying roughly €2.49 extra per €100. Do that daily and it adds up fast.

The no-staking angle is genuinely the one thing Coinbase has going for it though. Unlike Crypto.com (CRO stake) or Binance (BNB stake), you don't need to lock up platform tokens to access rewards. For UK users spending from USDC or GBP fiat, it's actually a solid option.

Bottom line: UK + USDC = good. EU + volatile crypto = look elsewhere.
