Issues with showing desktop icons.
I've been helping a friend set up an old gaming system and running Bazzite on it (it's an Am3+ FX-8350 system). Most of it has gone well, he's had a lot of learning to do but it's been fun showing him how to use it.
On to the issue. He can't put any icons on the desktop. I've checked folder permissions for the desktop folder and it's all set correctly. I had him change the settings from "Desktop" to "Folder view" last weekend (told him how over steam chat) and thought the issue was resolved but when I was in person the other day putting windows on a secondary drive, for a program that absolutely needs it, I noticed he still didn't have desktop icons.
The error shown in the picture(Could not write to file) is what it says any time you try to put something on the desktop. The folder already has items in it that don't show up. I even tried to change the folder used for Desktop to no avail. I'm at a loss. Does anyone have experience with this error?
TL;DR can't put anything on the desktop, error shown in picture. Items in desktop folder don't show.... Help?
