A fairytale children’s story about a little red squirrel who plays for far too long at the end of summer and autumn and gets lost trying to find his way home. He dances with elves and fairies on midsummer eve and there are gorgeous illustrations of the elves dancing and holding flower lanterns by the light of the moon. By the end he is reunited with his mama who tucks him up in his cozy feather bed with a warm acorn under the blankets and his tail over his head. The book was published in early-mid 1990s I believe.
