30 years of heavy cervical tics. 3 months of Sativex. They're gone. And they stopped from spray one.

I've had constant heavy cervical tics for 30 years. The kind where you have to do it multiple times until it feels "just right." It ruled my life. Six months ago I started Sativex (nabiximols — a 1:1 THC:CBD oromucosal spray). It was prescribed for nerve pain after a head operation — I wasn't even trying to treat the tics. The improvement was completely unexpected. The tics stopped from the very first spray. I used it for three months then stopped. I've now been off it for three months and the tics have not come back. I occasionally get the urge in very stressful situations but it's remarkably easy to resist and passes quickly. After 30 years that feels like a miracle. I'm not a doctor. I don't know exactly why it worked. But I think the combination gave my brain enough of a break from the tic cycle that something genuinely rewired. I'm telling my neurologist tomorrow. I'm posting this because I spent 30 years without this information. If you have tics and haven't heard of Sativex, it might be worth a conversation with your doctor. It's already approved in many countries for other conditions. Has anyone else had experience with cannabinoid based treatments for tics?
