Transit accommodation request
We booked to fly ZRH - BNE in summer.
Flying 16:10 and arriving the next day at 22:45 (I think), with a 3.5 hour layover in Doha.
QR changed our flight. Leaving 09:40 and arriving 17:30 the next day. A day later than planned, so we lose a day of our holiday.
We live far from the airport. For a 09:40 international flight we need to leave home at 4am the latest (with two kids) or pay for an airport hotel. Absolutely not ideal when you have a 24+ hour journey ahead of you. I would never have chosen a morning flight for a trip to Australia.
I have requested that we are booked on our original 16:40 flight ZRH to DOH. Then we have a 21 hour layover in Doha. Which Qatar Airways will pay for. Hopefully.
Do you think our request will be approved, when there is a flight that doesn’t require a long layover available? It is just inconvenient for us.
