Hey everyone, I’m posting here because I’m honestly getting frustrated and hoping maybe someone has dealt with something similar.
I’m 30, pretty fit, go to the gym regularly, stay active, and I don’t really eat junk like that. I try to keep a clean diet, which is why this has been frustrating as hell.
For the past couple years, I’ve had gut issues on and off, but the last few months it’s gotten worse. Constant bloating, stomach tightness, abdominal pain, nausea here and there, feeling weak, more tired than usual, and now the pain is getting more severe. Some days I can barely function at work because my stomach starts hurting so bad out of nowhere. Sometimes I even feel bloated just drinking water.
At first I thought maybe it was creatine, diet, or something simple. I do deal with stress and anxiety and have for years, but I feel like I know the difference between normal stress and something physically feeling wrong. Every time I go to the doctor or ER, I feel like I get dismissed with “it’s probably stress and anxiety” because I’m only 30.
I’ve had bloodwork, a CT scan done on my abdomen, and they also did that breath test for Helicobacter pylori infection where you breathe into a bag to check for bacteria, and nothing major came back. I was told it might be gastritis and was given Pantoprazole 40mg to take daily for two weeks, but it didn’t really help.
No major constipation, no major weight loss, no crazy findings on imaging, but I still feel like shit and it’s getting worse. I haven’t had a colonoscopy because of my age and doctors brushing it off.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? IBS, gastritis, ulcers, food intolerance, inflammation, anything? I’m just tired of feeling like something is wrong and being told I’m fine.
