"West Virginia Values" and culture - let's get specific

What, to you, are values or cultural aspects that are unique to West Virginia?

I hear a lot about what kind of people we are or what kind of culture we have and usually it's boilerplate "friendly, hard working, resiliant" that could be said about anywhere.

So, frankly the harder question I'm interested in, is what is exclusive or unique about our values and culture?

Good, bad, or indifferent... because I have a sneeking suspicion we do a lot of self-soothing
