Random Anaphylactic Allergic Reactions
Yesterday was the first time this has happened to me. I was driving home from my Mom's house, with about 40 mins left to go. My eye started itching, not unusual, that's been happening a lot since diagnosis.. but then my whole body broke out in hives, incessant itching from head to toe, my stomach felt like someone was stabbing me, my chest/throat started to tighten and felt like a huge lump in the middle of them both. My heart was racing, I thought I was going to have to pull over and call 911. I made it home, popped two allegras, and it subsided aside from pure exhaustion from the experience.
The scary thing about this is there was no clear cause for it. I didn't take, eat, drink or touch anything out of the ordinary. With the exception of an Eggo waffle and *pancake* sryup.
I got diagnosed with Lupus after having new yet minor reactions to food and specifically Doxycycline. Thanks to an amazing allergist who took me seriously and took the time to ask questions and dig deeper. I'm going to see him on Thursday fortunately , because this was something totally new.
Have any of you guys experienced anything like this this?
I haven't had any kinds of reactions since I've been on Hydroxychloroquine for the past 10+ months. It was extremely alarming and frankly quite traumatic for me..
