Have a 3.33ghz x 2 5,1 I have since retired but I would like to add a blu-ray drive to use it to archive my physical 4K blu-ray collection.

Given the age of the units now I’m not sure if either unit would work?

LG WH16NS40/WH16NS60 or ASUS BW-16D1HT

I recall reading years back that certain firmware needs to be on the drive for it to work, so I expect to not have it be plug and play.

If anyone else has done something similar and could share some insight it would be appreciated.
