I live in a 100 year old house with a ceramic coated cast iron tub. Recently the trip lever on the tub overflow has become stuck in the closed position, so when we shower, it now also becomes a bath 😣.

I’ve tried everything posted on YouTube. Removed overflow plate, attempted to remove the trip lever linkage assembly. It’s stuck. Then tried baking soda, vinegar, and hot water down the overflow hole. Still stuck. Next I tried WD-40. Is there any other suggestion I can try? Have recently had company wide salary cuts, a bunch of vet bills, and all the other regular insults on cost of living. I love plumbers, but I can’t afford one right now. Thoughts on what else I might be able to try?
