Potentially 50 days remaining in Corporate

We are a couple in our late 30s living in a HCOL city in Canada. We have a 3yo and a second baby on the way. Have about $1.1M in registered accounts (TFSA, RRSP, LIRA) and $359k in taxable accounts all invested in ETFs.

Our annual expenses is pretty high at $160k right now largely due to our mortgage.

I’ve run the maths and know as long we don’t withdraw from investments, early retirement is not a problem. Our only problem is the expensive mortgage. We’ve decided that once I’m on maternity leave later this year, I will not be returning to corporate. I will probably work part time in some capacity but will be more available to cooking meals, house chores, appointments, etc. My husband’s income plus my part time income will hopefully cover all the expenses. Husband is going to continue to work until 50 (and he’s perfectly ok with it).

Kind of crazy to think I may be 50 days away from never working in corporate again! Just want to tell someone.
